Australian commercials-2

Okay, so I can't quite figure out how to go back in and be able to write underneath that embedded video, so I figured I'd just write a new one. :)

But like I was saying, Australian ad campaigns can be so in your face, especially government commercials. The anti-smoking campaign actually makes me queasy to my stomach. There are quite a few that are bad, but this one's the worst.



Here's one for under-age drinking:



And then there's a Kotex commercial that literally made my jaw drop with its inappropriateness:



I continue to be awed and amazed. There are two other commercials that brought me to the conclusion that I needed to let you in on this australian advertising phenomenon, but unfortunately I can't find them on Youtube. Well, I found one but it's in another language, but if you stick around till the end of the commercial, you'll see what I mean.



The other one is a deodorant commercial and I can only imagine what my face looked like when I saw it...anyway, I'll see if I can find it on some other website at some point, but it's literally a commercial that makes you go, "Bleh!"

ok, i need to start watching australian commercials, cuz... they're better than american television! except for the beaver one... don't need any stray beavers in my bathroom ;)

Last day in Kuching (Borneo)

Fun fact. I quit my job. Or rather, I'm taking a pause. When I said there were a lot of reasons I was ending my contract early, it was true. Around three years' worth of reasons, stress, and feeling undervalued, I figured it was time to call it a day. At least for a while. I want a few months to just breathe and not have to wake up at 5am or 6am. Or go to bed at a grandma hour. Or go to bed without Marcus!! Or feel unseen.  That leaves a significant vacuum in my days, one that I'm not unfamiliar with, but I'm trying to approach it differently this time. I'm trying to value this time, rather than be scared of it. I'm usually scared at how long my time in between jobs is going to last, and I stress about whether and when someone is going to hire me. This time, I know I'll get hired. I don't know when, but it's just a question of time. And I don't want to waste this time, I want to treat it as precious and to use it wisely.
