Sitting in Lima...relaxing and wasting time
Day 4 in Lima, and I wouldn't say that I'm antsy, perse, but I'm definitely getting bored. Everybody else has things to do, so what do I do? I sit on the internet planning the upcoming trip to Cuzco, and trying to figure out what to do, other than go out and buy more dessert, while I'm in Lima. Hmm...well, it occurred to me that when I start up the traveling again, I won't be able to sleep in every day and I'll be on the go, in new beds, new places, with less relaxation. And in that vein of thinking, I decided that I should break in one of my favorite going away gifts--Season 5 of Scrubs. Libby, muchisimas gracias! I'm getting lost in the world of my pretend husband, and I am LOVING it. I figure that I'm not going to be taking my laptop when I go traveling much anymore, so I better take advantage of it while I can, right? :)

Apparently the Dutchman thought it would be fun to take a picture of me stuffing my face with pancakes. (I love pancakes....)

My favorite playground activity in Chosica...

On this day four in Lima, I am also going on day four of not having showered. Here at the house in Lima, the water sporadically stops functioning, for hours, days...sometimes with spurts of percolation, but this brings about some interesting occurrences. For one, that thing that I've been dreading, since I first discovered that the water stops working, finally happened. I went ahead and, uh, went number two--and as I went to flush the toilet, discovered that we were without water. Ugh....but really, I couldn't do anything but laugh. I knew it was going to happen some day. Also, this means that I am continuing in unlaundered vagabond ways. You want to hear the funny part? Yesterday I was actually excited that there wasn't water, because that meant I wouldn't have to shower. Today, I was nonchalant about it. Seriously, I'm regressing to my childhood-like ways where I don't want to take a shower. Though I will say, I have high hopes that there will be water tomorrow and that I can take a shower. I think four days is a fine number of days to not shower...when traveling...and not doing a whole lot of anything other than writing on the internet and eating cookies...P.S. I went to Dunkin Donuts tonight for the lack of locating a particularly special dessert place, but I ended up eating "munchkin" donuts (I like munchkins...yes, yes I do) that had coconut plastered on the outside and were filled with manjarblanco--my two biggest Peruvian dessert infatuations. Seriously, I'm obsessed with coconut. Truly, I am my mother's daughter.
I also realized that I haven't written anything about a strange phenomenon I've been noticing during my tenure here in the land of the Incas. It's something that also happened when I moved to Seattle. So when I first moved to Seattle, I started seeing my friends from Spokane. Except it wasn't really them, it was their Asian equivalents. It might sound weird, but I'm pretty sure Bethany agreed with me when she got to UW. I think she even said that she saw my Asian equivalent. Or I may be hallucinating, but even so, I enjoy my dilusions. And it's happening again with Peruvians. The first Peruvian-version of my friends I saw was Lee Lambert. :) But since then, I've seen many more, and it always catches me off guard. What delight there is to be found in such small things...ooh, but when I was in Mancora there were a lot of Israeli travelers, and I swear I saw the Israeli versions of Joshua Radin and Cary Brothers. :) Ha! Solo estoy bromeando. (Just joking!--One of those very important phrases I needed to learn early in my trip, though I was recently told that you can say "Estoy hueveando" which apparently means I'm playing with my "huevos" which is also slang for...well, yeah. :) Don't you love slang? ) Seriously, though, I found the taller, skinnier versions of both Cary Brothers and Joshua Radin. I kept staring at the Joshua Radin look-alike because he looked so similar! Not bad looking, I tell you. And yet to my right sat the Hollandaise boy. Am I turning into a commitment-a-phobe? I think it's possible...but I think that's better than being jaded, right? :) Anyway, stay tuned on more look-alikes. Assuming the phenomenon continues that is, now that I've revealed the secret. Oooh!
Okay, I heard from one of my dear former co-workers, Mijung, that she'd like to see more pictures of me in the blogs, so here are a few that didn't quite fall into my previous blog storylines. Prepare yourself for an onslaught of Tina pictures (many with, dare I say, normal faces)!
Doing a little bit of yoga while waiting to rent a motorcycle with the Dutchman (which we were never able to rent because the guy never showed up--but guess who didn't care, since she got to do some yoga?)

In my post-concert bliss, rejoicing in the newfound addition to the "Tina boyfriend" family--Gianmarco...
Chillin' outside the house in Lima
My first time making Alfajores...
Whoa, losing my balance on the tower at Real Felipe! Ooh, scary. :)
I was told that I had to put on the ears for a picture...as if I would try to resist.
I don't even know what I'm doing here, Vanessa told me to go stand by the bucket...uh, pretty picture maybe, but a picture with a bucket? Hmm...There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza...
With the Peruvian boyfriend...I totally didn't even tell him to make the face!
Rockin' my Peruvian pajamas (funny-looking, but comfy cozy)
He he. My toilet. :)
Finally, this is me saying, "No more pictures for you!"
