Missed the weekend days

Just realized yesterday that I really don't spend time on the internet on the weekends (aside from a massive NZ picture upload onto facebook), so I'm okay with just writing during the weekdays. Unless Marcus is away, in which case I find writing to be great company. The weather is slowly turning to autumn here, with crisp mornings, warm days and rain quite a lot of the time. It's time to rethink an investment in gum boots to keep the tootsies dry. Autumn is my favorite season of the year--I love that transition in the weather where you can wear pretty much anything you want. Pants, shorts, skirts; sandals, boots, tights; tank tops, cardigans, sweaters. It's a mix of everything, and it seems so exciting to get back into an extra layer of clothes. It also means I can start straightening my hair again instead of having to keep it up off my sweaty neck. Delightful, I know. It also means a change in flavors--apple, cinnamon, pumpkin, soups, and all manner of warm teas. Over the weekend we bought a loose leaf blood orange rooibos. Flavored teas are more about scent than taste, and this one is thoroughly enjoyed by my nose. The tea shop we got it from is a weakness of mine--most of their teas are loose leaf and are well-organized in the store by black teas, green teas and herbal teas with tiny sample jars of each tea for you to smell. Then the guy working at the counter proceeded to tell me how great that tea was and various ways to prepare it. I love having an informed tea drinker working at the tea shop! This weather also means a bit more indoors time. Though I love being outside, especially close to the water in summer time, there's something comforting about the coolness of fall and spending time indoors. It rained sporadically all day on Sunday, so Marcus and I spent the day inside snuggled on the couch reading. (And trying to enhance my sudoku skills!) We also drank our new tea, snacked on pastry and wiled away the day, completely relaxed, enjoying each other's company and also a bit of silence. Such a good day. Thank you fall.
